Walk and projects

On Christmas Day we were supposed to go for a walk on a beach somewhere but the weather was against us. Instead, we decided to visit some friends and go for a walk on the 'front' at Clevedon. Not really seaside as it is the River Severn but there are some lovely views over to Wales and there are some waves. My DH needed the little boy's room and I found this in a wall while I was waiting.

It was quite a scruffy wall and this is beautiful - well in my opinion anyway. I love patterned tiles and to find this, really made my day. It is in good condition and I loved the colours, and of course the white roses.

The weather here has been quite appalling - cold and wet and then freezing so there has been knitting. This was a Christmas present for my Mum but unfortunately he had to be wrapped and then brought home again because I failed to finish the toes. It is a delightful pattern to knit but the toes drove me crazy. The pattern is http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tree-frog-3
and is very well written.

I also started knitting this but it is going to have to be changed. It is 'Spoke' from Knitty and should be knit in an Aran type yarn. I wanted to make it in DK but unfortunately it is not working. The width is OK but not the length, so I am going to try adding some variegated 4 ply and working the 2 together.
I have so many projects on the go and many more ideas but I am back to work tomorrow so they are going to have to wait.......
